Big Island detectives have charged a 47 year-old man and a 32 year-old woman for a variety of offenses stemming from a burglary that occurred Saturday in Puna.
Big Island detectives have charged a 47 year-old man and a 32 year-old woman for a variety of offenses stemming from a burglary that occurred Saturday in Puna.
After conferring with prosecutors, Jarrett Moke Hanato of Puna was charged with two counts of first degree burglary and his bail was set at $50,000.
Kimberly Anne Edwards, also of Puna was charged with two counts first degree burglary, one count each of third degree promotion of a dangerous drug, prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia, and fraudulent use of a license plate. Edwards’ bail was set at $30,250.
Both Hanato and Edwards made their initial court appearances Tuesday.
On Saturday afternoon, a Hawaiian Paradise Park resident reported to police that his home was entered and several items were removed. When he returned later in the evening, he observed a black Honda multi-purpose vehicle parked in his driveway and confronted a male and female on his property attempting to remove additional items.
